Pact

Founded in 2009 by Brendan Synnott, Pact makes super soft organic cotton basics. Brendan´s vision was always to disrupt the apparel industry for the better by using organic and fair-trade cotton as the foundation for addressing the labor and environmental issues that surround clothing. Transparency is one of the key values to make consumers aware and to connect them to makers with a traceable supply chain that empowers its people.

Cotton accounts for a massive amount of farmland, and just like our food crops, it can be grown with organic or non-organic methods. Pact uses organic cotton because it sustains the health of soils, ecosystems, and people by using natural farming processes. That means no toxic chemicals and 91% less water than non-organic cotton. Pact’s products are Certified Organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). If you would like to learn more about GOTS or explore even more of the benefits of organic cotton farming, please visit the following websites:

Pact is committed to making organic clothing, and it makes a lot of economical and environmental sense for our clothing to be made where the organic cotton is harvested. 74% of all organic cotton is from India. This is an opportunity to better the global community and make an impact on lives all over. All clothing is sweatshop-free and child-labor-free.

The Fair Trade Certified™ seal represents Pact’s participation in a movement that is improving millions of lives, while also protecting land and waterways in over 45 countries. It’s a world-changing way of doing business. The Fair Trade Certified™ seal is the mark of rigorous social, environmental, and economic standards. Fair Trade works closely on the ground with Pact’s factories to ensure that the people making Pact products work in safe conditions, protect the environment, build sustainable livelihoods, and earn additional money to empower and uplift their communities. Pact has partnered with an awesome eco-tech company that allows shoppers to offset the carbon footprint of their shipments. This technology calculates the shipment’s distance, the carbon footprint created, and the cost to offset that carbon locally (Example = buying wind energy credits).

Furthermore, you can use Pact’s shipping box to donate your old clothes to nonprofits. Pact’s clothing donation program has two goals. First, deliver your gently used clothing to inspiring nonprofits. Second, reduce the packaging footprint by making it easy to reuse boxes for an awesome cause.

Pact uses paper envelopes made from 100% post-consumer recycled paperboard and cardboard boxes made with 98% post-consumer recycled materials, both are 100% recyclable. Plus, the plastic bag inside that keeps your clothing safe is made with biodegradable plastic.
