Loveli
Linda got a wake-up call when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and she was told it was better to not use deodorant with aluminum. She tried different brands, but none of them really worked. So she started researching and came up with her own formula. She started selling her aluminum-free deodorant in 2016 under the name Loveli.
All products at Lovely are 100% natural, meaning the ingredients used are approved by the certification organizations BDIH or Ecocert. This does not mean that all products are vegan, because some, like the deodorant, contain beeswax and honey. What it does mean is that all products are free from: parabens, phenoxyethanol, silicone, PEGs, synthetic perfumes/dyes, animal products unless naturally produced by them, such as milk and honey.
At Lovely they have an absolute preference for organic ingredients, but Loveli is too small to buy all ingredients organically. Organic ingredients that have the right certificates that are required for the production of cosmetics can sometimes only be bought in large bulk quantities and are therefore out of reach for Loveli. As soon as production increases, they will always opt for the most environmentally friendly option. Until then, you can see what is organic (organic) and what not (yet) by reading the ingredients information of the product.
The production takes place in the Netherlands at a company that makes other Ecocert-certified products as well.
In the future Loveli will be using packaging that is durable and preferably biodegradable. Because it is difficult to determine what the most sustainable material is, Loveli is alert to recyclability and will continue to promote refills.
