The future of cleaning is here. Kinfill is different and that’s their aim. Founded by Reda Jouahri in 2019 as an answer to the alarming problem with single-use plastics, Kinfill is a collection of refined home care essentials, made in the Netherlands, designed to reduce single-use plastic waste in your daily routine. The products are made from clean ingredients that are kind to you and the planet. The 100% biodegradable concentrates are made to blend at home with tap water in a lasting bottle of Italian glass (which is beautifully designed as well). Using concentrate blends drastically reduces the environmental impact associated with packaging waste. 

We are fed to believe that with recycling we solve the plastics problem. Just save up all those empty plastic bottles and put them in the recycling container, ready to be melted down and turned into new ones. Sadly it´s not that easy. The idea that plastic recycling is good for the planet is a fairy tale sold to us by the manufacturers and the retailers who profit from it. In reality, entire categories of plastic are rarely recycled. The rest goes to landfill, or is incinerated. Often our plastic “recycling” is shipped abroad. A Greenpeace investigation has found plastic packaging from Europe, Japan and Australia discarded at multiple illegal dump sites in Malaysia. By tricking us into thinking we can use as much plastic as we want so long as we put it in the recycling container, companies are shifting the responsibility for their big corporate mess onto the individual.

At Kinfill they feel it is their responsibility to prioritize ethical, sustainable practices in all areas of their business and are continually looking for new, innovative solutions to evolve and improve home care. Experts agree that the best, most sustainable thing we can really do is start buying as if nothing we use gets recycled. By eradicating single-use plastic use in your cleaning regime, Kinfill is part of a more sustainable future.

Kinfill comes in a cardboard box and designed in such a way that no padding is needed. One kit consists of a glass bottle with a durable plastic spray and a small glass vial that contains the cleaning concentrate. This solution is mixed with tap water in the reusable glass bottle and is available in different scents (cucumis, lavender, orange, pine husk and tilieu) and for different purposes (floor, glass & mirror, multi surface and tub & tile).

Kinfill wants to convince as many people as possible to switch to more sustainable products: “This is a product that is leaning on the aesthetically pleasing; but that’s because we hope this speaks to people that might not be directly aware of sustainability. It would be great if we can appeal to a broad public and really make them think about what’s in a cleaning product, “ explains Reda.
