Fluf

When Fluf was founded in 2005 by Terra Kushner and Nathalie Butterfield it was an exclusive pillow boutique in Toronto.  The store sold colorful pillows designed by Kushner, a former interior designer and Butterfield, a former lawyer. The inspiration for creating greener products came from their families. “We were making a lot of eco-friendly changes at home because we had young families,” says Kushner who, like Butterfield, has two children. But the duo had trouble finding printed fabrics made with eco-friendly dyes and fabrics, such as hemp and organic cotton, to make into pillows. So they launched their own line of sustainable printed fabric.

Now they make a range of high quality, organic cotton reusables (lunch bags, storage bins, snack packs etc.) that are healthy and safe. Their lunch bags and snack packs feature fun, contemporary designs that will appeal to all ages. Everything they create is effortless, durable and machine washable. Fluf is all about sustainability, and uncompromising quality products and attention to detail.

At Fluf they are obsessed with health and safety and that's why they regularly perform extensive health, safety and quality testing on all products to ensure they´re free of all kinds of nasties, like BPA, phthalates, heavy metals, AZO and formaldehyde. All products comply with or exceed the most stringent safety standards in Canada and the US. Everything made at Fluf is reusable, durable and meant for constant daily use. Kick the disposable bag and baggie habit and replace with the reusable totes, lunch, snack and sandwich bags.

They are also committed to low-impact, minimal packaging. That is why the products are not packaged but come with just a simple paper, 100% recyclable hangtag. Of course, there's always room for improvement and that’s a central part of our mission: to perpetually seek to do better; to find ever more earth-friendly alternatives.

Fluf supports organizations that are working hard to make the world a better place. Organizations that empower young girls with equality education and the tools to do anything. For 2017 they are supporting Plan International´s "Because I am a girl"/ Girl power campaign, which aims to keep girls in school, out of unsafe marriages and in control of their own futures. The donation of one dollar for every "Girl Power" bag sold is being matched 10:1 by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). With this match, every "Girl Power" bag sold will raise 11 dollars for this campaign.
