Anima Women's Surf Style — My Green Goodiebag

Ánima Women´s Surf Style is a small brand based in the beautiful Spanish Canary Islands. Creating this brand was a natural step for Esperanza Bringas Álvarez, whose passions are the ocean, surfing, meditation, yoga, vegan food and sustainability. Esperanza named her brand Ánima because according to psychoanalyst Carl Jung “Ánima is the feminine quality of the man's psyche; one of the two internal archetypes or unconscious representations that we have. It is the capacity to surrender, receptivity, the capacity to give love, fruitfulness, contemplation and intuition ”, explains Esperanza.

Ánima brings together all of Esperanza´s passions in one beautiful, eco-conscious brand. Great care and effort is put in the materials used and the design of the products. The surf ponchos are colorful, cheerful and super soft to the skin. You can comfortably get changed in them, but are so comfortable that you’d like to just keep them on. They are made in Turkey with peshtemal fabric (which is used for Turkish towels) from 100% cotton with OEKO-Tex certificate, or from a mix of bamboo and OEKO-Tex cotton.

Only natural materials are used, such as OEKO-TEX certified cotton, bamboo and Lenzing Modal. Lenzing Modal is produced in an environmentally sound process using Edelweiss, a Lenzing fiber technology. The beechwood fiber from Austria unties softness and nature. Edelweiss stands for a "symbiotic" production process - pulp, the raw material, is produced at the same site as the Modal fiber itself. Furthermore, Ánima also makes sure that our products have been made under fair-trade standards:

But Ánima does more: they work together with three local NGO´s: Fundación Foresta (reforestation of the Islands), CEAMAR (who work with Dolphins and Whales in the Carian Archipelago) and CVNatura2000 (who take care of the turtles in the Cape Verde islands).
