Sorbos
Meet the first edible straw around made by Sorbos, a Spanish company founded in 2014 by Enric Juviñá, Carlos Zorzano and Víctor Manuel Sánchez. The Barcelona-based company makes edible straws made out of sugar that come in different flavors, like lemon, strawberry or cinnamon. The straws can be personalized with your own text. For example, restaurants and bars can order them with the name of their place, but it is also a great idea for parties like weddings, baby showers etc. The straws maintain their physical appearance for three hours in cold water. And don´t worry about calories, each straw only has 24!
Bartender Víctor Manuel Sánchez came up with the idea while working and realized there was a gap in the market of straws. At first he made them at home, but in 2016 they won first prize at the Pascual Startup which has given his company an enormous boost.
Not only are the straws biodegradable, Sorbos doesn´t use plastics at any stage of their manufacturing process. That´s what we call #weareeco!
