Founder Shay Lawrence started CaliWoods because she believed there was a better way to do things. After numerous travels she saw it was hard to ignore the small pieces of plastic littered within the light, bright sand of the world’s most isolated islands. All over the world, in lots of different ways, it became clear that there were very few stones left unturned by humans and the way we are living. Every single plastic straw that was ever made, still exists today in some form. So she started selling reusable, stainless steel straws and brushes. So, why use reusables?

2. They are healthier. CaliStraws are non-leaching; there's no BPA, PVC, lead or phthalates.
3. They make drinks look good.
CaliWoods believe that we have reached a critical moment in time and really need to change the way that we consume. CaliWoods is here to be part of that movement in a positive and uplifting way.

Products: We do a full range of reusable stainless steel straws. They are available as packs for people to use at home and when they are eating out. We also work with the hospitality industry and do bulk wholesale of reusable straws as well as hospitality-grade paper straws.
Mission: To operate as a sustainable business that produces quality, purpose driven products. Each product needs to be a more sustainable alternative than present solutions. We are working towards a social enterprise framework to give back to projects that protect or restore the fragile environments.
