bulk
In 2006 bulk started from a spare bedroom from the idea that we should not only achieve our goals but to go beyond them. As passionate gym-goers, founders Elliot Dawes & Adam Rossiter knew things could be different, and better. Wanting to get more from the supplements available at the time, they decided to change the game and create transparent and industry-leading products that anyone could trust - from athletes to casual gym-goers. That’s how their mission to transform sports nutrition and wellbeing started.
Fast-forward to today. What began with a GBP 3,000 credit card loan from their parents, has now seen bulk become one of the largest and fastest-growing active nutrition brands in the world. In 2021 alone, over 10 million products are delivered to customers looking to support their health and fitness journey. Now more than ever sport, health, fitness and nutrition are for everyone - no matter who you are, what you do, or how you do it. A healthy lifestyle is a process that never truly stops. That’s why bulk is committed to creating world-class nutrition for every step of your journey. This means delivering the highest-quality products; the most sustainably sourced packaging; and all combined with great taste. By sharing their journey and the journeys of those who inspire the people at bulk, the label builds a foundation of trust with their customers, ambassadors and partners. Building a global community for the brand.
As a global community, the health of our planet is one of the biggest challenges we face today. That's why bulk is committed to being an industry-leader in sustainable practices, raising standards and delivering the highest quality products with the lowest environmental impact. At bulk they have transitioned over 90% of the packaging materials to sustainable alternatives. The label is working towards its goal of being 100% sustainable in all of packaging in the near future. That’s why bulk´s pouches are now made from 100% home-compostable and biodegradable materials, the pill pots are made from highly recyclable, European-sourced aluminum and the cardboard in all of shipping boxes comes from sustainably managed forests.
Each product in the range contains a researched combination of vitamins, minerals, nutraceuticals and extracts with evidence-based health claims. All products are expertly formulated by the label´s in-house nutritionists so you know you’re getting support you can trust. Each ingredient is of the highest quality, meticulously selected and included in carefully calculated doses for direct action, where you need it most. The pill pots are made from 100% European-sourced aluminum, one of the most widely-recycled materials in use. So your packaging is guaranteed to be reused, again and again.
Bulk takes a zero tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery in it’s supply chain and aims to consistently act with the utmost of integrity in its business relationships and across its stakeholder base Supplier relationships are integral to that and bulk aims to ensure it only engages with suppliers that operate to a high level of quality and ethical standards. The label operates a number of policies aimed at identifying different types of exploitation such as human trafficking, forced labor, servitude and child labor. It conducts eligibility and right to work checks as part of the recruitment and on-boarding processes for new employees. Included in the employee handbook are policies on health and safety, diversity, grievance procedures and whistle blowing. A plan is in place during 2021 to update and expand these policies to install best practice for identifying and reporting concerns for employees’ welfare. Bulk works with a relatively small number of suppliers in its supply chain due to the specificity of its products and the quality standards in its product formulations. As a result, long term partnerships are formed and bulk aims to gain a strong understanding of suppliers’ business practices.
